We met at church and began as acquaintances who would text from time to time. Harlan was very shy at first. The first time we spoke in person, he asked how I was doing. I said, "Good, how are you?" and he replied with, "Good, how are you?"

Over time, our conversations grew deeper, especially in the months leading up to when I started dental hygiene school. We realized we shared the same sense of humor, temperament, faith, and outlook on life. About a year and a half after we first met, we finally went on our first date - and we've been inseparable ever since.

Nine months into our relationship, we got engaged at Disney World, a place that holds a special place in our hearts. Through school, while he pursued his dream of starting his HVAC business, new beginnings, and everyday life, we've been each other's greatest supporters. Whether it's big adventures, or quiet days at home with our dogs, Oliver and Thomas, we're so excited to begin this next chapter together.
